Regional Science Centre, Guwahati celebrated Engineers’ Day on 15th September, 2015 in its premises with some activities conducted for schools children. Engineers’ Day is observed in India in honor of Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, who was born in 1860. He was the chief designer of the flood protection system designed and built for the city of Hyderabad, as well as the chief engineer responsible for the construction of Krishna Raja Sagara dam in Mysore. The following programs were conducted on this special occasion.
- Painting Competition for children for schools children of classes I to XII in three groups
- An Exhibition on Science & Engineering by Assam Engineering Institute, Guwahati.
- Open House Science Quiz Competition
- Prize distribution
- Film Show (Award Winning Film of Rashtriya Vigyan Chalchitra Mela & Competition- 2015)
Students of local schools & colleges and general public took part in the above celebration programme.
